AGL has a new Art Fellow!
We are very glad to welcome our first ArtFellow: Askold Kurov! Special thanks to the Global Campus of Human Rights for supporting this collaboration.
Askold is an award-winning Documentary Filmmaker from Russia. He has directed and co-directed several critically acclaimed films, including Winter, Go Away! (2012), Children 404 (2014), and The Trial: The State of Russia vs Oleg Sentsov (2017). Askold’s films have been screened at several reputed film festivals, including the Venice Film Festival and the Verzio Film Festival. His work has focused on human rights and social conflict in contemporary Russia, often exploring the harassment of socially engaged artists through judicial systems and authoritarian legal frameworks.
As our Art Fellow, Askold will help leverage his filmmaking skills to help AGL increase dialogue on the right to freedom of artistic expression and how creative legal strategies can help defend and protect artists’ rights!
