Salam Neamah Almgrie, alias Salam Almohands, is a writer, poet, and human rights activist. He has authored several books and articles in Arabic, which advocate for human rights, peace and tolerance in relation to contemporary issues in Iraq. His work rejects violence and militant Islamic groups.Salam fled Iraq in 2016 with his family and currently lives in precarious conditions in exile. He continues to suffer violence and receive threats in connection to his artistic and human rights work. AGL provides support to Salam on several legal issues, including relocation to a safe haven. His case is ongoing.
